Sure, we're proud of our accomplishments! What could warm your heart like the sight of a dog who arrived with a damaged body or spirit- heartbroken, fearful, and sometimes in pain- being snuggled in the arms of his new family and seeing in his eyes that he is home at last? When he struts beside his new owner with his head high and hops into their van without a single look back. When he's too involved with taking in all of the new sights and smells to even look your way for a brief good-bye. That's when you know that you've done your job well. And you're proud.
These are just a few of our Happy Tails! If you can contribute to this page, please send a photo and a few lines about your pet, adopted from Paul Warner Rescue, to: Paul_Warner_Rescue@ yahoo.com

Purdeeta is cradled in her new mama's arms.

Hellie, Pepper got a sister!! Gem is the same age and is from Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was being fostered at the place where Pepper goes to daycare which is where they became friends. Gem had heartworm and was brought to CACC in April. She was treated and was able to be with other dogs as of June. She got her last heartworm test in August and it was negative, so when it was time to send Gem back to animal control I had to adopt her! Her story reminded me of Pepper's, that she was abandoned because she was sick and had to spend too much time in a crate recovering so was really in need of some love. They have so much fun together and Gem has actually been very good for Pepper. I had these photos taken so that I can use one of them for my Christmas cards (hence the fur vests). Thought you would enjoy! Erin
Pepper, living the good life!
Although gentle, relaxed Theo was rescued on the morning he was scheduled to be euthanized, he spent at least 3 months waiting for his family to discover him. Since large, black dogs are often hard to place, imagine our delight when this special family embraced him immediately. He felt right at home within five minutes. Since he adores children and gets along great with other dogs, they were able to see the inner beauty of this treasure of a pet. Within days, Theo had proven himself to be priceless. First, he won a class in a dog show in which he was shown by a two year old. Second, he learned to climb the ladder and zip down the slide. Way to go, Theo!
This is Luke with his new family. They knew right off the bat that this was the guy for them. They drove 4 hours for Luke and after losing their boxer, JoJo, to cancer were ready to share their love again. What a lucky guy!.

Carson has it all...including a permanent home!

Kayla was tied to a tree day and night with no shelter and was seized by animal control. Those days are behind her because she was adopted by owners who treat her like the princess she is!

Lori Harmon was walking her dog on a desolate country road in the middle of nowhere near Kansas, IL. The thermometer hovered near 20 degrees. To her amazement, Lori found this puppy curled up in a pile of shredded corn husks. After a brief visit to the vet, she was adopted that very same day! What a stroke of luck for all involved! Here Roseann basks in the attention of Craig Smith, the Honorable Mayor of Paris, IL and a volunteer for Paul Warner Rescue and the Edgar County Humane Association. Mayor Smith rolled out the red carpet for this adorable new resident. |

Cricket and Jamie lost both their owners within the last three months. Difficult as it might be, our dog adoption manager was adement that they would not have to go through another loss by being adopted into two homes. Maureen and Eric adopted Cricket and Jaimie together. They love each other.

Maddy patiently watched her foster dog friends come and go for several months. Finally her wish for a home came true. The adoptive family is perfect for her--one with twelve year old twins! Mady has enough love to go around and more. She proved to be the perfect pet once the twins showed her how to operate the doggy door. Now Maddy is beloved by the entire family and has all of the exercise and love she could ever desire. You go, girl!
